U.S.S. COMPETENT AM-316

 

U.S.S. DEVASTATOR AM-318     U.S.S. GLADIATOR AM-319

 

 

The U.S.S. COMPETENT, AM-316 the U.S.S. DEVASTATOR, AM-318 and the U.S.S. GLADIATOR AM-319, will be re-commissioned at Pier "D", Long Beach Group, Pacific Reserve Fleet, U. S. Naval Station, Long Beach, California, at four p.m. on Friday, February 29th, 1952.

 

Captain Wayne N. Garnet, U. S. Navy, Commander Long Beach Group, Pacific Reserve Fleet, will re-commission the ships.

 

Rear Admiral Thomas R. Cooley, U.S. Navy, Deputy Commander

Western Sea Frontier and Deputy Commander Pacific Reserve Fleet, will deliver the commissioning address.

 

The Invocation will be delivered by Lieut. Comd. C. D. Ewell,

Chaplain, U. S. Navel Base, Los Angeles.

 

The music will be provided by the Marine Band from the Marine

Corps Air Station, El Toro, Santa Ana, California.

 

The completion of the ceremonies, guests are cordially invited

to board the ships for refreshments in the Wardrooms and General Messes.
